Basic Christian Teachings - Lesson 2A Bible Which Guides and FreesLee, Meyer, Campus Pastor Introduction | Lesson 1 | Lesson 2 | Lesson 3 | Lesson 4 | Lesson 5 | Lesson 6 | Lesson 7 | Lesson 8 | Lesson 9 | Lesson 10 Contents
1. What is the Bible?I Peter 1: 10 The prophets, who wrote beforehand concerning what God's grace would do for you, made a thorough search to learn all they could about this salvation. 2 Peter 1: 21 for no prophesy was ever spoken because a man decided to prophesy, but men said what God gave them to say as they were directed by the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3: 16 All scripture is God-breathed. John 17: 17 Make them holy in the truth; Your word is truth. Psalm 119: 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
John 20: 30, 31 His disciples saw Jesus work many other miraculous signs that are not written in this book. But these things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name. Revelation 22: 18-19 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from his his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. The Employment Counselor Preparing for a long trip, the young Christian said to his friend, "I am just about packed. I only have to put in a guidebook, a lamp, a mirror, a microscope, a telescope, a volume of fine poetry, a few biographies, a package of old letters, a book of songs, a sword, a hammer, and a set of books I have been studying." "But," the friend objected, "you can't get all that into your bag." "Oh yes," replied the young man, "it doesn't take much room." He placed his Bible in the corner of the suitcase and closed the lid. The Greek words for "The Bible" mean "The Book;" there is none like it. In the Old Testament God spoke through the prophets whose central message was that greatest gift, the promised Messiah. "Testament" means "will" or "agreement." The Old Testament was spoken and written by prophets, priests and kings at the direction of the Holy Spirit. Written in Hebrew, the Old Testament is a Scripture we share with Jews, and to some extent, Muslims. Its account ends 400 years before Christ lived. The New Testament was written in Greek by the apostles and evangelists 30-60 years after Christ's death. Knowing when and how the Bible was written and by whom it was written, and that it has been the primary influence of most history, art, government and daily lives of billions of people for the last 5000 years is interesting, but the importance of the Bible is that it is God's inspired Word, his plan for our salvation, and contains essentially all we need to live forever. Not many people's paths to salvation begin with the Bible, but few are completed without it. 2. How do we know the Bible isn't just another book?Romans 3: 4 Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge." II Corinthians 10: 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. Colossians 2: 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy. II Peter 3: 15-16 Keep in mind that the patience of our Lord is for our salvation, just as our dear brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him. He talks about this in all his letters. Some things in these letters are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and not well-grounded twist their meaning, as they do with the rest of the Scriptures, and so they destroy themselves. I cannot prove God's existence, I cannot prove Jesus raised from the dead, I cannot prove there is a Spirit who works in us, I cannot prove you are going to heaven if you believe Jesus paid for your sins through death, I cannot prove that you should pay any more attention to these words than any other words written by humans unless I can prove that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Guess what? I can't prove it. I believe it. I trust it. I would be willing to die for the fact that it is God speaking directly to you and me, telling us his holy plan for salvation. Many have called into question the accuracy and perfection of Scripture, and it's an easy target. You cannot prove the Bible is holy by quoting the Bible. You have to trust that God wouldn't leave us stranded here on earth without a clue to the key to heaven. God would not give us a book of deception or one that was filled with half-truths. If the Bible didn't exist, Jesus would have lived, died, rose again and then left without a trace. To what extent you trust the truth of the Bible defines your place in Christendom. Many believe it is a book of great teaching and literature. Many believe you are ridiculous for believing every word of Scripture is true. Many will call you narrow-minded. Many will say you don't trust the Bible enough, that you aren't taking the promises seriously. Many will say if you don't believe every word of the Bible is literally true, you will burn in hell. Many more say that it is an important book, the first few steps which church tradition continues and expands. A billion people reading the same thing will come up with a billion interpretations. How simple to tear out the parts of the Bible with which you disagree, to create Tim's Bible or Jenny's Bible or Norah's Bible or Scott's Bible. "I agree with Jesus." "I agree with Paul." "I agree with Moses." Serious readers of the Bible will consider the Bible as a whole and integrate it into their lives. Why? Blessings. The blessings of reading the Bible are unimaginable. The blessings the Bible promises are staggering and life-changing. There is nothing of importance to life in this world or the next that is left out of Scripture. 3. What are the two great messages of the Bible?Leviticus 19:2 Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. Exodus 20: 3ff You shall. . . You shall not. . . I John 4: 9 God has shown us His love by sending His one-and-only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 1: 17 The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Christ Jesus. Romans 1: 16 I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. I John 2: 1, 2 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. II Corinthians 3: 6 The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. John 20: 30-31 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. The law and the gospel are the two great messages of the Bible. The law is the holy will of God in which He tells us how to be - perfect - and what we are to do and not to do. The law teaches us what God expects. The gospel teaches us what God does. In the law the activity is on our part. In the gospel, the activity is on God's part. The gospel is the Good News that Jesus is our Savior. To sum up 1) The law teaches what we're supposed to do and what we're supposed to avoid; the gospel teaches what God has done, and still does for our salvation. 2) The law shows us our sin and the wrath of God; the gospel shows us our savior and the grace of God. 3) The law has to be proclaimed to everyone, especially those who continue to live a sinful life; the gospel must be proclaimed to sinners who are troubled in their minds because of their sins. 4) The law comes first, then the gospel, and you can't preach one without the other. They're like Laurel and Hardy. 4. How does the law guide us?The following section deals with the 10 Commandments. When Jesus came, he did not change the law, but summarized it thus "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22 37-40) Jesus neatly divided the two "tables" of the ten commandments 1-3 deal with the love of God, while 4-10 deal with loving each other. As you read the following commandments, think of them in terms of the one true law, the law of Love. First CommandmentExodus 20: 3 You shall have no other gods before me. Matthew 22: 37, 38 Jesus replied, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." Isaiah 42: 8 I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols. Psalm 115: 4 Their idols are silver and gold. John 5: 22, 23 The Father has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent Him. Proverbs 11: 28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall. Matthew 10: 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Ephesians 5: 5 Yes, be sure of this, that no one who is immoral, impure, or greedy (such a person worships an idol) has any share in the Kingdom of Christ, who is God. Psalm 33: 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. Proverbs 23: 26 My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways. This is the foremost commandment. God forbids worship of any idols, money, job, home, family, saints or statues. God insists that He occupy first place in our lives and that we make a full commitment to him and love, trust, and believe in him above everything else. Second CommandmentExodus 20: 7 You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. James 3: 9, 10 With (the tongue) we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse those who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so. Leviticus 19: 12 Do not swear falsely by My name and so profane the name of your God. Matthew 7: 21 Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my father who is in heaven. Leviticus 19: 31 Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God. Psalm 50: 15 Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me. Matthew 5: 34-38 But I tell you, Do not swear at all either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your "Yes" be "Yes" and your "No," "No"; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Romans 2: 23, 24 You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? As it is written "God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you." Psalm 103: 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Life Savers Underground: I'M NOT YOUR CUSS WORD, AM I? God's name is holy, and He forbids using it carelessly, speaking evil of it or using it to call down his anger. Christians profane God's name the most, because they claim to be followers of Love and yet don't. Hypocrites take God's name for granted. Most people think of "taking God's name in vain," as using God's name as a curse word. True. Think of it this way when you say God's name, he listens. So unless you want his attention, don't say his name. Otherwise, he spends all of his time going, "What? Oh. What? Oh. What? Oh." Call on his name when you preach, praise or pray. Otherwise, leave him out of it. Third CommandmentExodus 20: 8 Remember the sabbath day by keeping it holy. Colossians 2: 16, 17 Therefore, do not let anyone condemn you in matters of food and drink or observing festivals, new moons, or sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Acts 2: 42 They (the 3,000 new believers) devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. John 8: 47 The person who belongs to God listens to God's words. You do not listen to Him because you do not belong to God. Genesis 2: 2 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Hebrews 10: 23-25 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another. Luke 11: 28 Jesus replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." The early Christians chose Sunday as their special day of worship because Jesus rose from the dead on this day. We misuse the Day of Worship by not coming to church at all, by coming irregularly, by not listening, by not believing, by not doing. God not only set aside the Sabbath for worship, but also for rest. For this reason, many families choose to make Sunday their family day. That's way-Biblical. Also, worship gives us an opportunity to praise and thank God and to be inspired by His word and His people. Ideally, we are strengthened by the Lord and our fellowship with other believers who build us up and prepare us for the challenges to our faith. Fourth CommandmentExodus 20: 12 Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Ephesians 6: 1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" - which is the first commandment with a promise - "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Leviticus 19: 32 Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. Romans 13: 2, 3 Therefore, whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you wish to have no fear of the authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive its approval. I Peter 2: 18 Servants, subordinate yourselves to your masters, showing every respect, not only when they are good and kind, but also when they are unfair. Luke 14: 26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters - yes, even his own life - he cannot be my disciple. Acts 5: 29 The high priest questioned them and said, "We give you strict orders not to teach using this name, and here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching. You want to take revenge on us for putting this man to death." Peter and the other apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men." God has placed authority figures over us, and they should be obeyed - until they ask us to sin against God. This is what Jesus means by his teaching about "hating" parents (which means, if they hate God, to love them less than God). Likewise, Christians are to live in harmony with society, to not be rebels - until society asks us to sin. If there is a question between man's law and God's law, we should always obey God's law. Peter and the apostles, as well as Daniel and most major Old Testament figures, resisted what their authorities told them to do when those actions would have resulted in a sin against God. However, rebellion against authority for reasons other than obeying God's law, is a sin. God values order. Fifth CommandmentExodus 20: 13 You shall not murder. Genesis 9: 6 Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man. Romans 13: 4 He (the government) is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Romans 12: 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. I John 3: 15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him. Ephesians 4: 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. God is the giver of life and reserves the right to take it. Our most valuable earthly possession is our life. God forbids us to hurt our neighbor in any way, physically or emotionally. Hating a brother or sister hurts not only them, but poisons us as well. Someone who is filled with hate does not have room for love. God insists that we take good care of our own bodies and help our fellow humans in every way possible. Sixth CommandmentExodus 20: 14 You shall not commit adultery. Matthew 19: 6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate. Matthew 19: 9 Anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman, commits adultery. I Corinthians 7: 15, 16 But if the unbelieving person leaves, let him leave. In such a case a Christian man or woman is not bound. But God called us to live in peace. For you wife, what do you know - you may save your husband. Or you husband, what do you know - you may save your wife. Ephesians 5: 21 Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Matthew 5: 19 Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. I Corinthians 7: 4 The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Matthew 5: 28 I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. I Corinthians 6: 18-20 Flee from sexual sin. Every other sin a person may do is outside the body. But the person who sins sexually sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, whom God gives you and who is in you? You do not belong to yourselves because you were bought for a price. Then glorify God in your body. Marriage is not a human invention but an ordinance of God for the happiness, procreation, and morality of the human family. Marriage is a commitment for life, "till death us do part," not a convenient outlet for our temporary desires. Adultery and malicious desertion are the only Biblical grounds for divorce. Our lives and actions are to be pure. Seventh CommandmentExodus 20: 15 You shall not steal. Leviticus 19: 35 Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. Jeremiah 22: 13 Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his countrymen work for nothing, not paying them for their labor. 2 Thessalonians 3: 10 If a man will not work, he shall not eat. Acts 2: 44, 45 All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all as any had need. 1 Peter 4: 10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. I John 3: 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? We do not own; God owns and we owe. We are the steward of all God's possessions on loan to us, including not only our money, but our time and especially the individual talents God gave us. Employers owe their workers good salaries and employees owe their employers the best of their labor. We are to use our possessions for our neighbor's, God's and finally our own good. This is by far the hardest stumbling block for 20th Century citizens of the United States. Eighth CommandmentExodus 20: 16 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. James 1: 26 If any think they are religious, and do not keep a tight rein on their tongues, they deceive themselves and their religion is worthless. Proverbs 19: 5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free. Zechariah 8: 17 "Do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the Lord. Proverbs 11: 13 A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret. Matthew 18: 15 If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. Proverbs 31: 8,9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and the needy. One of our prized possessions is a good reputation. That can be ruined by gossip. Once hurtful words are spoken, they cannot be retracted. If you are unsure whether what you're saying about someone is gossip or not, THINK before you speak Is it true? Is it helpful? Is it inspirational? Is it necessary? And is it kind? If your speech passes these five tests, you can be assured it is not gossip. Gossip is no more or no less a serious sin than any other, but it is more dangerous because it is socially acceptable, like the drug alcohol. Ninth and Tenth CommandmentExodus 20: 17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. Genesis 3: 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. James 4: 2 You want something but do not get it. You kill and try to get something, but you cannot lay your hands on it. You quarrel and fight. You do not receive things, because you do not ask for them. I Timothy 6: 8-10 If we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. Psalm 37: 4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. This commandment can be summed up in the joke where the restaurant patron says to the waiter, "I'll have what he's having," pointing at the dinner enjoyed by another customer. The waiter then promptly removes the plate from the other customer and puts it on the first patron's table. The sin is not necessarily in desiring the kind of thing someone else has; the sin of covetousnous is in desiring the specific thing - or person - someone else has. While it is not wrong to marry a gal just like your mother, it is wrong to marry your mother. Covetousness is a combination of discontentment with what one has not and envy of what someone else has. Covetousness is an attitude that can easily lead to breaking all the other commandments. 5. How does the law condemn us?Matthew 5: 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. James 2: 10 Whoever keeps the whole Law but fails in one point, that person is guilty of breaking all of it. Psalm 14: 3 They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is no one who does good, no, not one. Luke 17: 7-10 Who among you would say to your slave who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here at once and take your place at the table'? Would you not rather say to him, 'Prepare supper for me, put on your apron and serve me while I eat and drink; later you may eat and drink'? Do you thank the slave for doing what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, 'We are worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done!'" John 5: 45 Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. Romans 3: 20 Therefore, not one person will be justified before God by doing what the Law says, because the Law teaches us to recognize sin. Romans 6: 23 The wages of sin is death. God doesn't grade on the curve. He demands perfection for entrance into heaven, because only the holy may be with The Holy. The frightening truth is that we have flunked the test of the Law. We haven't gotten 65% or 90% or 12%. Our score is Zero. We have failed. And there is no extra credit by doing good works, since we would only be doing what we were supposed to be doing. A brief examination of the commandments and their New Testament examples show that we've broken every Law. As the bathroom mirror honestly reveals how we look in the morning, so the perfect mirror of God's law shows us as we are spiritually sinners. The verdict for our sin? Physical and eternal death. But wait - there's more to the story... 6. How does the gospel free us?Romans 10: 4 You see, Christ is the end of the Law to give righteousness to everyone who believes. Hebrews 9: 22, 26 The law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood here is no forgiveness. . . But now (Jesus) has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Galatians 3: 13 Christ paid the price to free us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. Galatians 3: 21, 22 Is the Law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Never! For if a law had been given that could make us alive, then certainly righteousness would become ours by keeping that law. But the Scripture has said that everything is a prisoner of sin, so that the promised blessing might be given to believers through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 3: 23, 24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. The Law demanded a blood sacrifice. God demands perfection. Jesus Christ took care of both of these requirements with his death on the cross. He has freed us from eternal damnation. Now we are free, forgiven and redeemed. That's Good News. Jesus stands at the door, knocking, ready to come into your heart. You may receive this gift. The first step is confessing that you need help, that you are a sinner and need a Savior. This is a very difficult step for most proud humans. The next step is to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is your Savior. All these promises will be fulfilled once Jesus is in your heart. You are a new creation. How does it feel? Let's PrayDear Jesus, thank you for coming into the world, dying on the cross and rising from the dead to save us; thank you for coming into my heart to save me. Amen. Points to Ponder1. At one of the many Buddhist temples of Japan, there stands a small building which contains a large wheel that contains all of the sacred Buddhist laws and teachings. By spinning this word wheel, all of the sacred words pass before your eyes, and this is credited to your goodness (if you're a Buddhist.) Many Christians buy beautiful Bibles and prominantly display them. Name one way to avoid making your Bible an icon, or magical book. 2. Do you know someone who's life was changed by reading and believing the Bible? One of the best books on that subject is C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, but many others exist. 3. Some people feel that Christianity is a negative religion that exists only to make us feel guilty or stupid or bad. How does a correct understanding of Law and Gospel counter this thinking? Why is the law needed? Why must the gospel always accompany it? 4. Give examples of some folks you think overstress the law? who overstress the gospel? 5. How is it that Jesus only needed two commandments, and God the Father needed 10? (Key word Summary.) 6. What are some common competitions of God for first place in people's lives? in your life? 7. How can a Christian be at peace with the idea that you must love God above family? 8. Using God's name loosely - "Omigod! O God I can't believe it!" - indicates a lack of respect for the name of our Creator. To even speak his name 2000 years ago was a death sentence. What's a happy medium between the two extremes? Speaking of medium, how have the media added or detracted from the name of God? 9. How would you answer someone who says, "I don't need church - I worship him on my own?" 10. Give some reasons for a teenager's correct rebellion. What rules that parents make should be obeyed, even if they're down right irritating? 11. What is the difference between anger and hatred? How can we get rid of hatred? 12. Is it murder when the state executes a murderer? 13. Can you sin without breaking the civil law? Can you obey the civil law and yet sin? 14. In what ways does our society encourage lust and infidelity? How can we combat these forces? 15. Of all the commandments that God gave Moses, the one he harped on most often was idolatry, or "running after other gods, whom you have not known." Obviously, most of us don't bow down to little statues named Moloch anymore, but the Good Old Dollar has become our god. Jesus was attempting to say that when we don't share with those who don't have as much as we do, we're stealing from them, because if we're not spreading God's wealth around, we're hoarding. What are some other ways that we steal from each other? Why does God hate idolatry so much? 16. Can you say something negative about a person without it being the sin of gossip? 17.Discuss the difference between wanting to have a car like your neighbor has and coveting your neighbor's car. What actions and decisions indicate the sin of covetousness? 18. Why do we judge one sin to be worse than another? 19. Since the gospel is such good news, why can't we ignore the law and concentrate on the gospel? 20. If God gave you a chance to add an 11th commandment, what would it be?
