Our Preferred Future

We envision a large network of cell groups, each with well-trained leaders bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to every corner of our community.

We envision that by 2015 this network of leaders and small "cell groups" will have reached into the ASU community, and nearby community colleges, as well as the surrounding metropolitan community area. There will be approximately 30,000 people involved - all of them belonging to a small basic Christian community (cell group) consisting of believers, seekers, and pre-Christian unbelievers.

We envision that each cell group community will be a place where people gather in the presence, power and purpose of Christ; worshiping God, building up each other in love, and reaching out together into their respective circles of influence.

We envision cell groups to be the primary vehicle for mission outreach, incorporation of new members into the Body of Christ, the beginning of faith-development for new converts, the raising up of leaders and, finally, discipleship training for all participants.

We envision that each cell group community will be led primarily by a well-trained leader who has shown himself/herself to be committed to the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who lead will have demonstrated not only an ability to lead, but also a desire to answer the call to discipleship in this way. The goal of each appointed leader will be to model servant-leadership and to build up the Body of Christ. An important immediate responsibility will be to seek out and to mentor an "apprentice leader" among those who have been drawn into the cell group; someone who has demonstrated a genuine faith commitment as well as leadership potential (setting the stage for inevitable cell group multiplication).

We envision that prayer will be foundational to all we do; that biblical principles will serve as a guide, and that dynamic worship will be an important part of life in this cell group network. Prayer, edification, discovering and applying biblical truths to our lives, and the sincere worship of the Triune God will take place weekly in the cell groups. A larger celebration-gathering of all the groups will take place each month in a suitable auditorium, or, when necessary, stadium.

We envision a continual development of levels of leadership that will insure order, accountability and proper oversight of ministry activities throughout the network of groups.
